CMA Announces the Addition of Two New Staff Members Scott Frans November 15, 2012 NASHVILLE – The Country Music Association has announced the addition of Nicole James as Senior Manager of Market Research and Michelle Jacobs as Strategic Partnerships Coordinator. CMA was the first trade group formed to promote a single genre of music in 1958. James will manage a broad range of research initiatives related to CMA events and the CMA Insiders, a proprietary consumer panel, that provides valuable insights for better understanding today’s Country Music consumer. She will design, manage, and report primary and secondary research sources as part of the CMA’s efforts to provide the industry with actionable insights to help grow the Country Music fan base. James will report to Senior Director of Market Research Karen Stump. “Nicole brings a unique combination of research skills and knowledge that allow her to quickly step into the role and make a positive impact on our research programs here at CMA,” said Stump. James previously served as Senior Project Manager for Market Decisions Corporation in Portland, Ore. where she managed all aspects of full service research. Prior to that position, James held marketing and media management positions with Pierre Marcolini Chocolatier and Victoria’s Secret Beauty. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Belmont University and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. Jacobs will be responsible for the coordination and execution of partner programs within CMA events and provide assistance with partner project development, partnership fulfillment, event recaps, and presentation development. Jacobs will report to Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships Angela Mendenhall. “We are privileged to have Michelle join our team,” said Mendenhall. “Her unique experience and vast relationships are the perfect complement to our partnership building efforts.” Jacobs previously served as Sales and Marketing Coordinator for Nashville’s Hard Rock Cafe where she developed local partnerships for special events, managed philanthropic event activation, and oversaw the venue’s digital presence. Prior to that position, Jacobs served in various tour and travel related positions including Admission Sales and Service Intern at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. She holds a Bachelor of Recreation Management from Illinois State University. More than 11,000 music industry professionals and companies from around the globe are members of CMA. The organization’s objectives are to serve as an educational and professional resource for the industry and advance the growth of Country Music around the world. This is accomplished through CMA’s core initiatives: the CMA Awards, which annually recognize outstanding achievement in the industry; the CMA Music Festival, which benefits music education and is taped for a three-hour special; and “CMA Country Christmas,” which airs Thursday, Dec. 20 and features Country artists performing original music and Christmas classics. All of CMA’s television properties will air on the ABC Television network through 2021.
