CMA and iTunes Join Forces to Promote CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock Scott Frans July 31, 2014 NASHVILLE – The Country Music Association and iTunes will join forces to promote “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock.” The three-hour primetime concert special airs Tuesday, Aug. 5 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on the ABC Television Network. “CMA is thrilled to partner with iTunes on this multi-platform promotional program that not only supports tune-in efforts for our TV special, but also airplay and sales for the stellar lineup of artists featured in the show,” said Damon Whiteside, CMA Senior Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships. “We have created a powerful, integrated model to bring television, social media, digital radio, and retail together for the advancement of the Country Music industry.” Beginning this week, songs by CMA Music Festival performers will be featured on a dedicated CMA Music Festival station on iTunes Radio featuring artists from the CMA Music Festival TV special. In addition to the specially created iTunes Radio station, CMA Music Festival content and tune-in messaging will be featured throughout the iTunes store as well as messaging on the company’s Facebook page (facebook.com/itunes) and Twitter account (@iTunesMusic). Throughout the broadcast of “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock,” viewers will be invited to visit a specially created CMA Music Festival store at iTunes.com/CMAFestival to purchase music from the artists appearing on the ABC special. “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” first aired in 2004. This is the 10th time ABC will broadcast the special – which invites the whole country to America’s largest Country Music celebration.
