Molly Stevens grew up in Macon Georgia with a rich heritage of music surrounding her. Sharing the city’s history with performers like the Allman Brothers, Otis Redding and Little Richard, it’s no surprise Stevens found a love for music early on. Beginning at age two, Molly began singing with her musical family on local radio and television stations. At age 11 she performed at the Billy Graham Crusade at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta Georgia. Most of Molly’s childhood and teen years were spent singing in churches and theatre stages. Stevens is a graduate of Mercer University and after graduating taught high school theatre and Humanities for four years. Stevens knew that Nashville was where she had to be to take the next step and packed her bags in May 2010.
Stevens Layne separately and together have opened for acts including Wynonna Judd, Keith Anderson, Ty Herndon, Rodney Atkins, The Indigo Girls, Kelli Pickler, Josh Gracin, Lori Morgan, Blackberry Smoke, Sonia Leigh, and Rodney Atkins.
