The Georgia roots of Red Light Management’s Ty Bates have no doubt influenced his love and respect for country music. Listening to Alan Jackson, Randy Travis and Garth Brooks, Ty grew to love the stories the legends sang about in their colossal hits. Ty’s first musical memory came in 1989 when his dad, who worked for Ford Motor Company in Hapeville, Georgia, took him to an open house at the plant. Ty was fascinated with the sound of then country newcomer, Alan Jackson. What better way to be introduced to country music than by a man who would become a living legend! After graduating from high school, he pursued his music career by moving to Myrtle Beach, SC where he sang in shows including “High Steppin’ Country” and the highly acclaimed “Carolina Opry.” While fine tuning his stage presence night after night, he began recording several of his original songs where he fell in love with the studio. 2011 proved to be an instrumental year as Ty won the “Overall Artist of the Year” category at the Georgia Country Awards. This honor came shortly after he nabbed the “Sing it like Jake” contest and would secure a slot singing on stage with Jake Owen at Jake’s hometown show. Ty’s no stranger to country audiences as he’s landed performances opening for acts like Reba, Gary Allan, Blake Shelton, Dustin Lynch, Lonestar and Chris Cagle. With electrifying and contagious energy on stage and his rich, soulful vocals, Ty continues to establish himself in Nashville as a rising artist to watch.
