Guided by the generosity of the Country Music community, the CMA Foundation is seeking to support organizations and school districts who are focused on improving, sustaining, and increasing participation in music education programs for all.
The CMA Foundation is predominately interested in projects and programs focused on our philanthropic pillars.  The Foundation’s philanthropic pillars include:

  • Increased student participation through music
    KEY INDICATORS: Increased numbers, providing non-traditional music opportunities for student
  • Quality & equity in music education
    KEY INDICATORS: Responsive to students’, programs’ and schools’ needs; decreased inequities
  • Professional development for music teachers
    KEY INDICATORS: Retention, recruitment, quality of program
  • Music education advocacy
    KEY INDICATORS: Increased student and teacher participation through music, community involvement; Strengthen and support for music education from school leadership, parents, etc.

 

CMA Foundation funding addresses the need to improve opportunities for our students and educators – regardless of income, education or ethnic background to take an active role in transforming communities and education through music.  The CMA Foundation is especially interested in work that advances music in rural and urban areas.  Grantees will focus on measurable outcomes, including greater participation in music results in academic achievement.

The CMA Foundation only reviews grant’s once a year. All applicants will be notified in October on the status of their funding request. All applicants, whether funded or not, must reapply for funding each year. The Grant Application Submission window is August 1 through August 31 of each year.

First year grant applicants will be required to complete our Phase I Grant Application.  Phase I applications can be submitted online and must be received by August 11th. If accepted, the grant applicant will be contacted directly by CMA to complete the Phase II Application.

The CMA Foundation is the philanthropic arm of CMA. Since 2006, CMA and the CMA Foundation have contributed more than $17.5 million in grants to organizations focused on providing quality music education. As a national music education foundation, we promote equity and access to music education. All approved Phase I applicants will be contacted directly by the CMA Foundation for access to Phase II.

Only current grant applicants from 2016-2017 are eligible to submit.  All previous grantees should submit the Phase I application.
