What is CMA EDU?

CMA EDU is a campus-based program that gathers college students in celebration of their love for music and gives them an inside look into the music industry. In return, CMA leverages these groups for research, marketing, and promotional use on their respective campuses.

For students who are interested in a career in the music or entertainment industry, CMA EDU provides valuable opportunities to explore the field, network with industry professionals, and build a resume through volunteer and project participation.

The Chapter Program allows schools with high levels of interest to form student-governed organizations which are recognized by CMA as an official CMA EDU chapter. Each chapter is led by student officers and one faculty advisor. Schools interested in creating a chapter on their campus must go through a thorough application process and meet certain program standards.

How to start a CMA EDU Chapter

To ensure that the CMA EDU program will be beneficial to the students of a particular university, CMA EDU requires that each potential chapter goes through a rigorous application process including working with a current CMA EDU Chapter mentor. This process helps identify essential assets to a successful program: a qualified student campus leader, an engaged faculty advisor, a receptive student body, and a critical mass of industry outlets in the immediate area.
