The Power of Country Music and CMA Featured at Music Biz 2014
NASHVILLE – The Country Music Association announced today the organization’s first-time participation in the Music Business Association’s (Music Biz) flagship event, Music Biz 2014, with a deep dive into the Country Music consumer.
“Participation in this event is an extension of CMA’s ongoing mission to advance Country Music and help develop new business opportunities for the industry,” said CMA Sr. Vice President of Partnerships and Marketing Damon Whiteside. “Providing a forum to discuss our Country consumer at comprehensive music industry events such as Music Biz 2014 is a valuable platform for reaching an important segment of the music industry that is hungry to gain insights into the healthy Country Music business.”
The Music Business Association (Music Biz), formerly NARM, and digitalmusic.org, have partnered with CMA to program this year’s Country Music Meetup, which will be held on Thursday, May 8 (2:15-4:05 PM/PT) at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles. The event is the latest in Music Biz’s series of genre-specific Meetups and the first to be organized by CMA.
Content includes a panel moderated by Whiteside that will explore how artists and record labels can more effectively harness the digital space through data and best-in-class examples of successful music campaigns. Nielsen Entertainment will be on hand to reveal a new study that features a look at everything from demographic and lifestyle habits to where consumers seek entertainment, spending, and more.
