Rodney Atkins, Luke Laird, and Host Bob DiPiero Perform Sept. 12

NASHVILLE – The CMA Songwriters Series makes its Pittsburgh debut bringing some of Nashville’s best tunesmiths to Hard Rock Cafe Pittsburgh on Wednesday, Sept. 12 (8:00 PM show time, doors open at 7:00 PM). Rodney Atkins and Luke Laird will join host Bob DiPiero for a night of music and storytelling.

A two-time CMA Award nominee, Atkins has landed six No. 1 hits, including the recent Platinum-selling chart-topper, "Take A Back Road," and has sold more than five million singles in the past five years. His current album, Take A Back Road, produced the out-of-the-box smash, "Take A Back Road," and latest single, "Just Wanna Rock ‘n Roll.” Atkins garnered back-to-back recognition with Billboard's Most Played Song of the Year Award for "If You're Going Through Hell" (2006) and "Watching You" (2007).

“The CMA Songwriters Series events are a great way to let the audience hear the story behind the song,” shared Atkins. “Luke and Bob are some of the best writers in the business, and I’m looking forward to sharing this experience with the fans in Pittsburgh.”

Rounding out the lineup is Laird (“Temporary Home” recorded by Carrie Underwood, “Baggage Claim” recorded by Miranda Lambert, and “A Little Bit Stronger” recorded by Sara Evans); and a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame as well as the host for each evening, DiPiero (“Southern Voice” recorded by Tim McGraw, “Blue Clear Sky” recorded by George Strait, and “Loving You Is Fun” recorded by Easton Corbin).
