MARTINA MCBRIDE AND RASCAL FLATTS TO ANNOUNCE NOMINEES FOR “THE 37TH ANNUAL CMA AWARDS” IN NASHVILLE
NASHVILLE – Reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Martina McBride and special guests, reigning Horizon Award winners Rascal Flatts will announce the final nominees for “The 37th Annual CMA Awards” during a press conference on Tuesday, Aug. 26 in Nashville.
The CMA Awards will be broadcast live on the CBS Television Network (8:00 – 11:00 PM/EST) Wednesday, Nov. 5 from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. Returning for his 12th consecutive year as host of “Country Music’s Biggest Night” is MCA Nashville superstar Vince Gill.
“The announcement of the final nominees launches the very exciting ramp up to the CMA Awards and brings an enormous amount of attention to our format and the depth of talent of our artists,” said CMA Executive Director Ed Benson. “Like all of us in the industry, millions of fans are anxiously awaiting to see who the top nominees will be.”
The announcement of the finalists in the 12 categories for the CMA Awards is one of the most anticipated events of the year. But the artists aren’t the only ones celebrating. CMA will also announce finalists for the CMA Broadcast Awards at the press conference.
The Broadcast Awards are among the most coveted by those working in Country radio. Winners are selected in four market categories (Small, Medium, Large and Major) for both Broadcast Personality of the Year and Station of the Year along with a single outstanding National Broadcast Personality of the Year.
Last November, 38 million viewers tuned in for “The 36th Annual CMA Awards.” The three-hour broadcast, which featured a record number of 26 musical performances, marked the second year the CMA Awards was broadcast during the competitive Fall sweeps period, winning the night in viewers and households for CBS.
