UNCLE KRACKER ADDED TO PERFORMERS AT CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL

NASHVILLE – Multi-Platinum recording artist Uncle Kracker has been added to the star-packed, opening night lineup Thursday, June 10, at The Coliseum for CMA Music Festival/Fan Fair® -- solidifying it’s growing reputation as “Country Music’s Biggest Party™.”

“One of our goals since moving the event to Downtown Nashville has been to add new programming elements and performances that have a tangible connection to Country Music and the lifestyle and interests of our attendees,” said CMA Executive Director Ed Benson. “Having Uncle Kracker perform during the event is another step in that direction. He has an appreciation for our fans, our music and our artists. This was a very easy and natural choice and we are delighted he agreed to participate.”

Uncle Kracker’s new single “Rescue” follows closely on the heels of his No. 1 chart-topping, crossover hit “When the Sun Goes Down,” featured on Kenny Chesney’s album of the same name. Chesney returns the favor by collaborating with Uncle Kracker on “Last Night Again,” the final cut on Uncle Kracker’s upcoming album Seventy Two & Sunny, due June 29 on Lava Records.

“I have been hearing about this event for a while and I think the concept is hot,” said Uncle Kracker. “It is an honor to be performing with all of these hot Country acts and I am looking forward to having people join Kracker world. We’ll rock the Coliseum on June 10.”

The inclusion of a DJ/rapper/AC hitmaker isn’t as unusual as it sounds. During its 32 year history, CMA Music Festival/Fan Fair has hosted a long line of celebrities and artists outside the genre including Bryan Adams, the Beach Boys, actor Danny Glover, Paul McCartney, actress Maureen McCormick, Sam Moore and more recently Lance Bass of *NSYNC and Verne Troyer (“Mini Me” from the Austin Powers movies).

“CMA Music Festival prides itself on surprises and unique collaborations meant to excite and thrill our fans, and 2004 is no exception,” Benson said. “We strive to bring our fans the freshest, most exciting musical experience possible.”
