NASHVILLE – The “41st Annual CMA Awards” will air on Wednesday, Nov. 7 (8:00-11:00 PM/EST) on the ABC Television Network live from the Sommet Center in Nashville, Tenn. Each week leading up to “Country Music’s Biggest Night™,” CMA will spotlight one of the Award categories with trivia about this year’s nominees and past winners.

Answer: Emerson Drive got their start as 12 Gauge in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada in 1995. 

Which 2007 Vocal Group of the Year nominee is experiencing a baby boom?

Answer: Little Big Town’s Kimberly Roads gave birth to daughter Daisy Pearl on July 27.  In addition, member Philip Sweet and his wife Rebecca are expecting their first child later this year.

What 2007 Vocal Group of the Year nominee was the top selling artist of 2006 regardless of musical genre?

Answer:  Rascal Flatts sold 4.9 million albums in 2006.

What 2007 Vocal Group of the Year nominee set a record for the highest one day sales in Ticketmaster history?

Answer:  The Dixie Chicks’ “Top of the World Tour” kicked off in May of 2003.  The tour set a record for highest one-day sales in Ticketmaster history. Taking in more than $62 million, the tour ended not only as the top Country Music tour of the year but also as the best Country Music one-year gross ever.

Answer:  Alison Krauss and Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas have individual band members nominated in other CMA Awards categories.  Alison Krauss is nominated in the Female Vocalist category and Jerry Douglas has a nomination in the Musician of the Year category.
