CMA HOSTS MEMBERSIPS EVENT FOCUSED ON INTERNATIONAL TOURING, CONSUMPTION AND MORE

CMA’s Ongoing MemberSIPS Programming Offers Country Music Professionals the Opportunity to Gather and Discuss Important Topics in the Music Business

CMA welcomed CMA members and industry professionals to its Nashville HQ on Tuesday, Jan. 23 for a MemberSIPS event focused on Country Music and its international opportunities in 2024. The event focused on networking and discussion, and was designed specifically for artist teams who are headed to the U.K., Europe, and/or Australia in Q1 & Q2. Attendees received advice and learnings from top industry professionals as well as guidance about how emerging artists can build an international fanbase and how established artists can replicate success overseas. Professionals in the business came together to discuss leveraging the upcoming C2C, CMC Rocks and Highways festivals, and share best practices and tips for making the most of international opportunities, while CMA shared current international consumption data and provided an overview of how CMA remains engaged year round with a large network of international professionals who are helping to grow Country Music in their territories.

Moderated by Milly Olykan (CMA Vice President, International Relations & Development), panelists Chris Kappy (Founder and Chief Navigation Officer, Make Wake Management and CMA Board Member), Liz Cost (Vice President, Marketing, Sony Music Nashville) and Shannon Saunders (Agent, William Morris Endeavor and CMA U.K. Task Force member) shared their expertise, personal experience and observations on Country Music’s impact internationally and what they advise are important focuses and steps to help artists succeed in global markets.

As the premier trade association supporting individuals within the Country Music industry, CMA created MemberSIPS to cater to its members’ professional development needs—offering thematic presentations, discussions and gatherings, and providing members a networking opportunity with like-minded professionals while enjoying a beverage with one another.
