The CMA Foundation Honored By The Tennessee Arts Academy

THE CMA FOUNDATION HONORED BY THE TENNESSEE ARTS ACADEMY

The CMA Foundation and its Executive Director, Tiffany Kerns, were honored by the Tennessee Arts Academy (TAA) with the Arts Leadership Award of Excellence on Wednesday, July 12 during the TAA Awards Banquet and Performance at Belmont University. This award is presented to an individual or group that has achieved a unique milestone deserving recognition and honor.

The Tennessee Arts Academy (TAA), established by the Tennessee Department of Education was created to to promote and honor the role of the arts by providing quality professional development, arts training, support and encouragement to K-12 teachers. Held annually in Nashville, the Academy offers arts exhibitions, networking opportunities, special performances and intensive workshop sessions taught by nationally recognized instructors and artists in the fields of music, theater and visual arts and designed to meet the needs of arts teachers. Since 1986, TAA has hosted teachers from every school district in Tennessee, and in 2002 opened the opportunity for arts educators from other states to participate in the Academy.

About the CMA Foundation
The Country Music Association established the CMA Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), in 2011 to leverage strategic partnerships, professional development for qualified music teachers, and grant distribution to improve and withstand equitable music education programs for all students nationwide. Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, the CMA Foundation focuses on providing sustainability, advocacy, and accountability within music education by investing in various resources for students, schools, and communities.
