NASHVILLE—The Country Music Association’s critically acclaimed CMA Songwriters SeriesPresented by U.S. Bank has announced a performance at Joe’s Bar on Weed Street in Chicago Tuesday, July 24 at 8:00 PM featuring Paris, IL native Brett Eldredge as well as Ross Copperman, Tom Douglas and Jordan Reynolds. During the trip, the CMA Foundation, CMA’s philanthropic arm, will visit Chicago’s Notes for Notes studio, located in the Near West Side neighborhood. In 2017, the CMA Foundation partnered with Notes for Notes to help fund studios across the country and allow the studio spaces to operate freely each year. By investing in these state-of-the-art studios, today’s youth are given the opportunity to create, experience and play music in their community. As part of U.S. Bank’s Community Possible giving platform and its Places to Play partnership along with the CMA Foundation, both entities will present a combined $75,000 in funding to Chicago’s Notes for Notes studio during the visit, which will sustain operational costs for the remainder of 2018.

CMA Songwriters Series Presented by U.S. Bank hosted a performance in Cincinnati in May and will host additional performances in Los Angeles and Seattle later this year. Stay tuned to CMAworld.com for more details.

Ross Copperman was born in Roanoke, Virginia with a passion to create songs. Following his dream, Copperman signed a record deal with Sony Records in the U.K. Despite the success of his debut single,

he moved to Nashville to focus on songwriting and production. He quickly made a name for himself through 16 No. 1 singles including Dierks Bentley’s “I Hold On,” “Drunk On A Plane,” and “Black” as well as Brett Eldredge’s “Beat of the Music” and “Wanna Be That Song.” Copperman has produced and written songs for a wide range of Country artists including Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Billy Currington, Eli Young Band, Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, Justin Moore, Kip Moore, Jake Owen, Chase Rice, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Thompson Square, and Keith Urban. In 2014, Copperman received three CMA Awards nominations including Album of the Year for Bentley’s Riser and Keith Urban’s Fuse as well as Single of the Year for Bentley’s “Drunk On A Plane.” He’s also a back-to-back winner of CMA Triple Play Awards in 2016 and 2017. Copperman received a Grammy nomination in 2015 for Best Country Album for producing Bentley’s Riser, won an ACM Award for Songwriter of the Year in 2016, and received BMI’s Songwriter of the Year award in both 2016 and 2017.

Tom Douglas enjoyed a successful career in commercial real estate before pursuing his lifelong passion for music, attending an enlightening songwriters’ seminar in Austin in 1993 and soon after signing a publishing deal with Sony/ATV. Throughout his career, Douglas has written numerous No. 1 hits including Jim Brickman’s “The Gift,” Tim McGraw’s “Grown Men Don’t Cry,” Collin Raye’s “Little Rock,” and Keith Urban’s “Raise ‘Em Up” featuring Eric Church. Douglas achieved a rare CMA Triple Play Award in 2010 for writing three No. 1 hits in a 12-month period, including Lady Antebellum’s “I Run To You,” Miranda Lambert’s “The House That Built Me,” and Tim McGraw’s “Southern Voice.” He’s written songs recorded by Brooks & Dunn, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Randy Travis, Trisha Yearwood and numerous other Country artists. In addition to several CMA Awards, Grammys and ACM Awards wins and nominations, Douglas was nominated for an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for the song “Coming Home,” recorded by Gwyneth Paltrow and featured in the film “Country Strong.” Douglas has also written for the soundtrack to the hit television show “Nashville.”

Platinum-selling singer/songwriter Brett Eldredge recently released his brand-new single “Love Someone” from his self-titled record, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and the all-genre Top Album Sales chart upon release. The album has yielded the hits “Somethin’ I’m Good At” and most recently “The Long Way,” which also lends its name to his critically acclaimed and first-ever sold-out headlining tour. The Paris, IL native released his Christmas album Glow in October of 2016 and earned a No. 1 song on the Holiday Music and Adult Contemporary charts with “Baby It’s Cold Outside,” a duet with Grammy-winner Meghan Trainor. Eldredge has seven chart-topping singles to his credit including 2014’s Most Played Song of the Year on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, “Beat Of The Music.”

Rising songwriter Jordan Reynolds, originally hailing from St. Louis, has quickly made a name for himself in Nashville. Reynolds’ songwriting is a fusion of classic Country and soulful pop. His songs have been cut by Lauren Alaina, Dan + Shay, Brett Eldredge, Lady Antebellum, Thomas Rhett and Keith Urban. Reynolds is currently enjoying success with Dan + Shay’s new single “Tequila,” which he co-wrote with the duo’s Dan Smyers in addition to Nicolle Galyon.
